Torus Annular BOP

The unique design of the Torus Annular BOP makes it perfectly suited for use with projects involving electric submersible pumps. An important concern on those workovers is protection of the electric wire conduit while retaining the ability to effectively and quickly control well kicks. The Torus Annular BOP is designed to "cradle" single or multiple downhole objects with an instant response time.

Finally - A "Sensitive" BOP

The key working element of the Torus BOP is the annular nitrile packer. The packer is activated by direct hydraulic pressure to close around the downhole tubing and wire conduit. This gives you precise control over the amount of force used to close the BOP. As a result, even the sensitive wires or tubing can be gently cradled while sill providing total well shut-off.

Most other BOPs employ piston-actuated packers with metal fingers which often crush conduits or fiberglass pipe. However, the Torus Annular BOP allows you to keep the workover moving without disturbing the conductivity of the electric cable and with out the costly downtime associated with splicing severed cable.

Multiple Closing Ability

By integrating the elastic nitrile packing element, the hydraulic actuation and instant response, the Torus BOP has the ability to conduct multiple closures on volatile wells with no cable damage or maintenance. The packer element is durable, resists abrasion and provides "bubble tight" shut-off every time. The packer is also resilient enough to serve you on many high-use workovers before routine replacement. The packer is easily field replaceable, if required.
